We Can Make It
by
Johnny Tillotson, Brian Hyland, Tommy Roe

This is a song that I heard when I was a kid at the end of the 1998 Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer movie.
Super great song. I love how it isn't specifically associated with the Holidays, so you can listen to it
and play it anytime.
It took me a few hours to figure out the bridges. I'm only 90% sure they're correct though. By all means,
comment something better if you have it, and if I agree, I'll change it.

[Intro]

G G C x2

G
Even though we have
C G
Many hills and mountains to climb,
G
And there's no easy road
C D
And we haven't very much time,

C D
We've gotta stick together
G D Em
We can hold on forever,
C
We can make it
D G
We can make it if we try

G
Even though the snow
C G
Will come fallin' down from the sky
G
We can overcome any
C D
Troubles and towers too high

C D
No matter how the winds may blow
G D Em
And though it may be touch and go
C
We can make it
D G
We can make it if we try

A#
There're times when you're down
F C
And you've given up on you're dreams,
A#
We have to face the storm
F C
Things are not a bad as they seem,
G D
You gotta go to extremes!

G
Even though it's dark
C G
Blue skies are comin' your way,
G
And by tomorrow
C D
It'll be a sunnier day

C D
As long as you're by my side
G D Em
We'll survive this stormy ride,
C
We can make it
D G
We can make it if we try,

[Sax solo]

A# F C

A#
Oh, we gotta face the storm
F C
Things are not as bad as they seem,
G
You gotta go to extremes!

[Key change]

A
Even though it's dark
D A
Blue skies are comin' your way,
A
And by tomorrow
D E
It'll be a sunnier day

[Outro]

D E
As long as you're by my side
A E F#m
We'll survive this stormy ride,
D
We can make it
E F#m
We can make it if we try,
D
We can make it
E A A7
We can make it if we try,
D D7
We can make it

We can!

[Sax outro]

A E A

*NOTE*
To make it sound a bit more like the song; when playing the G at times, take your ring and pinky fingers on
and off to go with the strings. I play my G with four fingers (holding down the B string as well). It sounds
better for this song anyway.
