Country Party Johnny Lee

[Intro]
D A G A D A G A

[Verse 1]
D G D G
I went to a country party, to reminisce with my old friends,
D A G Em G A D
A chance to share some memories and, play my songs again,
D G D G
When I got to the country party, they all knew my name,
D A G Em G A D
No one recognized me, I didn't look the same.

[Chorus]
D A G A D A G A
But it's, all right now, I've learned my lesson well,
D Em G A D
You see you, can't please everyone so you, got to please yourself.

[Verse 2]
D G D G
People came from miles around, everyone was there,
D A G Em G A D
Conway brought Loretta, Haggard brought Bobby Bear,
D G D G
And over in the corner, much to my surprise,
D A G Em G A D
Was Waylon, Willie, and Mickey Gilley, listening to Charlie Brown.

[Chorus]
D A G A D A G A
But it's, all right now, I've learned my lesson well,
D Em G A D
You see you, can't please everyone so you, got to please yourself.

[Verse 3]
D G D G
I played them all the old songs, thought that's why they came,
D A G Em G A D
No one heard the music, it didn't sound the same,
D G D G
Said hello, to Rambling Rose, she belonged to me,
D A G Em G A D
Sang a song about a Honky-Tonk and, it was time to leave.

[Chorus]
D A G A D A G A
But it's, all right now, I've learned my lesson well,
D Em G A D
You see you, can't please everyone so you, got to please yourself.

[Verse 4]
D G D G
Someone opened up the closet door, and out stepped Johnny Cash,
D A G Em G A D
Playing his guitar like a ring of fire, June was singing in the back, 'Jackson'
D G D G
If you gotta play a country party, I wish you a lot of luck,
D A G Em G A D
But if memory is a all I sing well, I'd rather drive a truck.

[Chorus]
D A G A D A G A
But it's, all right now, I've learned my lesson well,
D Em G A D
You see you, can't please everyone so you, got to please yourself.

[Outro]
D A G A D A G A
Latindadada, Latindadada,
D Em G A D
You see you, can't please everyone so you, got to please yourself.
