[Verse 1]
C Am F
I thought I heard, the colonel crying
Am G C F
March brave boys, there’s no denying
G C Am F
Cannons roaring, drums a-beating,
Am G C F
March brave boys, there’s no retreating,
G C
Love farewell

[Verse 2]
C Am F
If I should fall in far off battle,
Am G C F
Cannons roar and rifles rattle,
G C Am F
Thoughts fly homeward - words unspoken,
Am G C F
Valiant hearts are of-times broken,
G C
Love Farewell

[Verse 3]
C C Am F
Will you go or will you tarry,
Am G C F
Will you wait or will you marry,
G C Am F
Would this moment last forever,
Am G C F
Kiss me now and leave me never,
G C
Love Farewell

[Verse 4]
C Am F
I thought I heard, the colonel crying
Am G C F
March brave boys, there’s no denying
G C Am F
Cannons roaring, drums a-beating,
Am G C F
March brave boys, there’s no retreating,
G C
Love farewell

[Verse 5]
C Am F
Oh Judy, should I die in glory,
Am G C F
In the Times you'll read my story,
G C Am F
But I'm so bothered by your charms,
Am G C F
I'd rather die within your arms,
G C
Love Farewell
