John Statz - Honest

INTRO: C Am G (2x) C

F C
These days are going fast
F G
And living hard is going out of style
Am F C
Well, I know that you probably aren't missing me, honey
Am G C
But me, I can't say the same of you

F C
And I don't care where you've been
F G
Or how long you'll stay away
Am F C
Well, I know we are taught to be unhappy
Am G C
Just don't take that lesson too far

CHORUS:
G Am
I was honest, I was honest
F C
I was honest all my days
G Am F C
Honest and that's all that I can say

F C
When you stayed over and ran out early
F G
I just chalked it up to one night and laughed
Am F C
Well, maybe you didn't mean to slip out in the morning
Am G C
You just didn't want to wake me

CHORUS:
G Am
I was honest, I was honest
F C
I was honest all my days
G Am F C
Honest and that's all that I can say

BRIDGE:
Em F C
When the nights have all grown too long
Em F C
And the notes have drifted away
Em F C G
You've got me stuck like a fork in a socket
Em F C
Holding on, 'cause I can't let go if I wanted

INSTRUMENTAL: C F C F G Am F C Am G C

F C
Now I'm a-headed out of town
F G
Just when you're supposed to be back
Am F C
I'm sorry that I'll be missing you, honey
Am G C
I just trust that I'll see you down the line

CHORUS:
G Am
I was honest, I was honest
F C
I was honest all my days
G Am F C
Honest and that's all that I can say

CHORUS:
G Am
Honest, I was honest
F C
I was honest all my days
G Am C
Honest and that's all that I can say
