[Intro]
D A Em F# G x3 (hold on last G leading to verse)

[Verse]
G D A G F# G
Well these angels in my eardrums can't tell bad from good
G D A G
I lived inside these melodies just to make sure I still could
D A Em F# G
and I cried all night even though I'm grown
D A Em F# G
said "Honey hold me tight, make me feel like home"
D A Em F# G
Cause your love is bright enough to burn all night
D A Em (Hold)
sometimes love is a losin' fight

[Chorus]
G D
You tried to keep going but the ride won't steady
G Bm - A
You tried to get high but your heart's too heavy
Em F# G
and you got one thing on your mind

[Verse]
G D A G F# G
And now there's snake eyes on the sidewalk and fireworks overhead
G D A G
Won't you roll out that red carpet when we all wind up dead?
D A Em F# G
Hey smoke rings fade like a memory
D A Em F# G
You're honest as a ghost honey twice as free
D A Em F# G
You got faith enough to lift this curse
D A Em F# G
What if faith is just a false god's verse?

[Chorus]
G D
You tried to keep going but the ride won't steady
G Bm - A
You tried to get high but your heart's too heavy
Em F# G
and you got one thing on your mind

[Interlude/Verse 3]
G D A G F# G (no lyrics)
G D A G (no lyrics)
D A Em F# G
And now I'm pulling up devils from the long dark past
D A Em F# G
And the pain starts piling up far too fast
D A Em F# G
I can pin don't the minute when I lost my buzz
D A Em F# G
I thought I was somebody nobody could love

[Chrous]
G D
You tried to keep going but the ride won't steady
G Bm - A
You tried to get high but your heart's too heavy
Em F# G
and you got one thing on your mind
