John Edmond - Blue Job

F C G C

C G
Sometimes I wish I was a blue job up in the sky
G C
I wouldn't have to walk if I could fly
F C
But I'll be a brown job until I die
G C
With 10 years to go in the RLI

F C G C

G C
The sergeant that signed me up
G C
Had a face like the back of a truck
G C
A tattoo on his knee
G C
And legs like a mugla tree
F C
And the medic that did my test
G C
He left me standing in my vest
F C
And then when I didn't see
G(hold) C
He stabbed me with the T.A.B.

C G
Sometimes I wish I was a blue job up in the sky
G C
I wouldn't have to walk if I could fly
F C
But I'll be a brown job until I die
G C
With 10 years to go in the RLI

F C G C

G C
Down at the quarter master store
G C
I said I'd take size 4
G C
They gave me size 3 for sports
G C
It was a pair of open leg shorts
F C
I was in the cook house queue
G C
Waiting for my beans and stew
F C
The cook just winks at me
G(hold) c
And slips the blue stone in my tea

C G
Sometimes I wish I was a blue job up in the sky
G C
I wouldn't have to walk if I could fly
F C
But I'll be a brown job until I die
G C
With 10 years to go in the RLI

F C G C

G C
Standing on parade
G C
Never get a bit of shade
G C
Out in the blazing sun
G C
With the temperature of 101
F C
And you know there is nothing worse
G C
Than doing the assault course
F C
When the sweat is running free
G(hold) C
And it smells like a chibuli

C G
Sometimes I wish I was a blue job up in the sky
G C
I wouldn't have to walk if I could fly
F C
But I'll be a brown job until I die
G C
With 10 years to go in the RLI

F C G C

G C
We had a contact the other day
G C
But the terrors all ran away
G C
We were firing the M.A.G.
G C
from the hip like Audie Murphy
G C
So if I go up in a puff of smoke
G C
It's better than being a slow
G C
Or a fuzz from the PSAP
G C
I'd very much rather be me

C G
Sometimes I wish I was a blue job up in the sky
G C
I wouldn't have to walk if I could fly
F C
But I'll be a brown job until I die
G C
With 10 years to go in the RLI

F C G C
