[Verse]
G
Jimmie's still Jimmie and I'm still me
D
And I'm tired of working for your company
Em C
Time to move on but my heart's in traction
C D
Tongue-tied bar talk, no more action

G
Silence is golden unless of course your lonely
D
If jealousy is ugly then I'm looking pretty homely
Em C
The lights are getting brighter but the stage is getting darker
C D
Words on paper in a permanent marker

G
Late night new caps and Travelodge humdrum
D
Remote control channel changing undecided numb thumb
Em C
Lost for the language while the real world beckons
C D
Can I have your attention for just forty five seconds?

[Chorus]
G Bm C
Knock me unconscious (Ooh la la la, la la la la)
G Bm C
Remove my conscience (Ooh la la la, la la la la)
G Bm C
Wake me up later (Ooh la la la la)
C G D C
And let me go home ho-o-ome
C G D C
let me go home

[Verse]
G
A city's gonna sprawl and a vine is gonna climb
D
Guess I got to make the call on my own damn dime
Em C
A turning of the season, a changing of perception
C D
I looked in the phone book and called my reflection

G
I boiled up my friends in a hot pressure cooker
D
I like to shoot pool but I won't play snooker
Em C
I don't got the patience to wait for the payoff
C D
I think I'm in the ball park; no man you're way off

[Chorus]
G Bm C
Knock me unconscious (Ooh la la la, la la la la)
G Bm C
Remove my conscience (Ooh la la la, la la la la)
G Bm C
Wake me up later (Ooh la la la la)
C G D C
And let me go home ho-o-ome
C G D C
let me go home

[Verse]
G
Hoping for the best, imagining the worst
D
If laughs were water I would be dying of thirst
Em C
Time to get home, I'm callin' up the Scots
C D
Sayin', "Alright boys let's go get drunk!"

G
Lost in the night in a power outage daydream
D
Trying to make it right but i'm stuck inside a rhyme scheme
Em
Wanna break my habit, think that I can do it
C D
5 6 7 8 Baby I blew it

[Chorus]
G Bm C
Knock me unconscious (Ooh la la la, la la la la)
G Bm C
Remove my conscience (Ooh la la la, la la la la)
G Bm C
Wake me up later (Ooh la la la la)
C G D C
And let me go home ho-o-ome
C G D C
let me go home

[Outro]
G Bm C
Shake it, shimmy (Ooh la la la, la la la la)
G Bm C
Because Jimmie's still jimmie (Ooh la la la, la la la la)
G Bm C
Flip the record over (Ooh la la la, la la la la)
G Bm C
Spin me, oh spin me
N.C.
G C G G
And let me go home
