[Intro]
Em Am G C F C
Well in this town that's the way-ay-ay-aaaaay it goes

[Verse 1]
C Dm F C
Say seven words for the sailors over out on the sea
C Dm F
But there ain't no saint just for killers
F C
No mama's going to pray for me
C Dm G
Well I was blown here by the wind
G C
To a rusty city left unnamed
C Dm G
The dusty singing cowboy died here
G C
He's still doing tombstone things
F C
And he knew how hard it was to cry
F C
This evil darling, this deep blue sky
F C G
To be the rain in a dying man's eye
G F
Cry for water and you get no reply
F C G
Beg for mercy and laughter fills the sky

[Chorus]
Em Am
Dog Town morning she cries
Em Am
Barrels' views up are right on in your eye
Em Am
Dog Town There's no fruit from acid rain
Em Am
Go see if the coffin kid has a lid that bears your name
Em Dm G C F C
In this town, that's the way-ay-ay-aaaaay it goes

[Verse 2]
C Dm
You've heard of lamp-lit haciendas
F C
With wide-eyed girls who haunt the night
C Dm
But the senoritas you've befriended
F C
Cut the stars all out of the mirrors of their eyes
C Dm G
She sent seven shotgun shells
G C
Into the netherworld of Hell
C Dm
She slaughtered nine five white chickens
G C F
So you can never break her spell
F C F
Follow her down boy and you're bound to die
F C
Down in canyons Beyond the blind people's eye
F C G
She'll leave your bones Down in the haunted ground
G F
The hutchie wooden guarding your soul
F C G
Dead like a rock nevermore to roam

[Chorus]
Em Am
Dog Town morning, she cries
Em Am
Barrels from the shotgun blaze right between your eyes
Em Am
Dog Town there's no fruit from acid rain
Em Am
Go see if the coffin kid has a lid that bears your name
Em Am
Dog Town morning she cries
Em Am
Barrels from the shotgun blaze right between your eyes
Em Am
Bad dreams boys of my last night's Dog Town fight
Em Am
Go see if the coffin kid has a box to fit your size
Em Dm G C F C
In this town, that's the way-ay-ay-aaaaay it goes

[Outro]
F C F C F C
