I got this by ear from the "Live at the Owl Sanctuary" Recording. Pretty Simple, have fun!

[Intro]

C G C G Dm G Dm G
C G C G Dm G C

[Verse 1]

C G
Alone at first sight you're a terrible thing
C G
I walked into the room and I fell to my knees
Dm G
Boy, you should have seen her
Dm G
I wish I'd never been there

C G
Inked up arms that stretched down to the keys
C G
A smile that could kill you and a voice to believe
Dm G
and I thought I used to know her
Dm G
These days I hardly bother

[Pre-Chorus]

Dm G
We talked and caught up over a couple of beers
Dm G
Two pasts and two futures always unclear
Dm G C
Maybe you and I could just disappear for a while

[Instrumental]

C G C G Dm G C

[Verse 2]

C G
So we wrote down some songs and we toured up the coast
C G
I know there 's been others but I gave you the most
Dm G
These days we've got it made good
Dm G
Yea, but nothing lasts in this world

C G
We lit up fast but we burned out quick
C G
What starts off as magic always ends up a trick
Dm G
because no one 's going to have her.
Dm G
And nothing's going to save me.

[Pre-Chorus]

Dm G
We went back North separate into the cold
Dm G
I'm hold up in the house where I live alone
Dm G
Can 't we just talk about it a little more?

[Chorus]

C G
She said hey, don't cry
C G
Don't miss me, Don't write
Dm G
We were only making records
Dm G
We were only making records
C G
She said Hey, don't fight
C G
Don't kiss me goodbye
Dm G
We were only making records
Dm G
We were only making records
Dm G C
We were only making records, and killing time

[Instrumental]

C G C G Dm G Dm G
G C G Dm G C

[Pre-Chorus]

Dm G
We lit up fast but we burned out quick
Dm G
She blew out the candle, I smothered the wick
Dm G
She took what was left and hit the bricks

[Chorus]

C G
She said hey, don't cry
C G
Don't miss me, Don't write
Dm G
We were only making records
Dm G
We were only making records
C G
She said Hey, don't fight
C G
Don't kiss me goodbye
Dm G
We were only making records
Dm G
We were only making records
Dm G C
We were only making records, and killing time
