Jesse Stockton

Thick As Thieves

by Jesse Stockton
Jesse Stockton

Biography:

Hello Friends!
After many years of hard work, I am proud to announce that my first album is now out! It has been a long journey and I couldn't have done any of it without the love and support from all of you so, Thank you very kindly--this first album is for my fans! It came from the clay soaked peidmonts and mud creeks of my youth- Through the fog and snow covered Appalachia, whiskey, smoke, dark alleys, and dreams- To the wonderment I feel of the deep blue timeless ocean

[Verse 1]
C G
When I'm searching for the canyons
F Dm
Where the outlaws are on the run
C G
One eyed Jack he called my bluff
F Dm
Never even saw me draw my gun
C G
Well I've been sinking restless three straight days
Am F
Missing your loving arms
C G
Well I cried the night you ran away
F Dm
Wishing I sold the farm

[Chorus]
Am Fmaj7
But I seen the sun
C G Dm
Standing out in the pouring rain
C G Dm
Shining down on us once again
C G Am F
You know it's been a long time since I've called you my friend
C G Am F
But we can start it over again

[Verse 2]
C G
We got on a boat out of South Caroline
F Dm
Heading for the everglades
C G
Going to meet up with my dear brother soon
F Dm
Put an end to Sherms rein
C G
Cause he's burning the south town by town
Am F
I can't stand and watch my mama cry
C G
It's a fight to the death if that's what it takes
F Dm
We were all prepared to die

[Chorus]
Am Fmaj7
But I seen the sun
C G Dm
Standing out in the pouring rain
C G Dm
Shining down on us once again
C G Am F
You know it's been a long time since I've called you my friend
C G Am F
But we can start it over again We can start it over again

[Verse 3]
C G
What was that twisted line that she said
F Dm
I couldn't spot her in the wading crowd
C G
But I made my way, my brother by my side
F Dm
never knew I could feel so proud
C G
The work ain't so hard and it's not the end
Am F
I'll be smiling when it comes my time
C G
You can burn what's left if you don't tell
F Dm
Living was my only crime

[Chorus]
Am Fmaj7
But I seen the sun
C G Dm
Standing out in the pouring rain
C G Dm
Shining down on us once again
C G Am F
You know it's been a long time since I've called you my friend
C G Am F
But we can start it over again We can start it over again
F C G Am F
We can start it over again We can start it over again
