Tuning: Full step down
For both the intro and the verses it is a walk up from Em to G to C.

Em G C
I'd had one too many the night before
Em G C
And I needed to clear my pounding head
Em G C
So I headed on down to the Eastern Shore
Em G C
Sunrise Carolina sky was painted red
Em G C
Well the wind went whipping around my face.
Em G C
And the boats on Juniper bay were deathly still.
Em G C
Nothing marking time but the crashing waves.
Em G C
And the grand white lighthouse on the hill.

C G D Em
When I saw Blackbeard's Ghost in the fog off Ocracoke,
C G D
like a rainy Sunday morning back in 1704.
C G
Was he looking for buried treasure,
D Em
a broken heart from long ago.
C D
Cause he left both off the coast of Pamlico.

C-G-C-G

Em G C
Legends tells he walked the plank alone,
Em G C
Others swear he took six bullets straight to hell
Em G C
By the hand of Captain Maynard on that cold November morn.
Em G C
And now he roams the beach all by himself.

C G D Em
Cause I saw Blackbeard's Ghost in the fog off Ocracoke,
C G D
like a rainy Sunday morning back in 1704.
C G
Was he looking for his buried treasure,
D Em
his broken heart from long ago.
C D
Cause he left both off the coast of Pamlico.

C-G-C-G-C-G-D

Em Bm
And some say they see the lights flickering on the sound
C D
He's out there every night trying to chase the devil down.

[Outro]
