My Sisters And Brothers -- Jerry Garcia Band

Lyrics: Charles Johnson
Music: Charles Johnson

[Verse 1]
A D
I want to say to my sisters and my brothers Keep the faith
A E
When the storm flies and the wind blows, Go on at a steady pace
A
When the battle is fought and the victory's won
D
We can all shout together, we have overcome
A D
We'll talk to the Father and the Son
D A
When we make it to the promised land

[Chorus]
A
If we walk together, little children
D
We won't ever have to worry
A
Through this world of trouble
E
We've got to love one another
A
Let us take our fellow man by the hand
D
Try to help him to understand
A D
We can all be together Forever and ever
D A
When we make it to the promised land

[Verse 2]
A D
Our bible reads, Thou shalt not be afraid
A E
Of the terror by night, Or the arrow that flies by day
A D
Nor for the pestilence That walketh in the dark
A D A
Nor for the destruction That waiteth in the noonday hour

[Chorus]
A
If we walk together, little children
D
We won't ever have to worry
A
Through this world of trouble
E
We've got to love one another
A
Let us take our fellow man by the hand
D
Try to help him to understand
A D
We can all be together Forever and ever
D A
When we make it to the promised land

[Verse 3]

A D
This world is not our home We are only passing through
A E
Our trail is all made up Way beyond the blue
A
Let us do the very best that we can
D
While we're travelin' through this land
A D
We can all be together Shaking a hand
D A
When we make it to the promised land

A
When we make it to the promised land children
D
Make it to the promised land children
A
Make it to the promised land children
E
Make it to the promised land
A
When we make it to the promised land sisters
D
Make it to the promised land children
A D
We can all be together, forever and ever
D A
When we make it to the promised land
