"Bless My Soul," Jeff Black
The introduction is my favorite acoustic riff of all time, but it's a little strange.
There are a lot of hammer-ons and pull-offs, but the basic set-up is as follows:

Hit an open A right before the chords
Am C F C Am G
Repeat this twice, but the second time, you play Am a little bit hammering on the first fret of B, then
jump right into the song!

Am C
I know why the blackbird sings
F C G
his strange and mournful song on a summer s night
Am C
I know why the spirit brings
F C G
us back into this world until we get it right
Am
I m on a roll
C G
and I begin to see the light
Am
bless my soul
C G
I ve been around so many times

Am C
I know why the baby cries
F C G
it s way into the arms of a mother s love
Am C
I know why true love survives
F C G
and it is more than the red hot fire of another s t ouch
Am
I m on a roll
C G
and I am not afraid to fight
Am
bless my soul
C G
on a long hot summer s night

F
It might seem fair to warn you
G
that there s nothing here to stop me
Am
(from drowning in the darkness
G
of the things I can t control
F
the angel near my heaven
G
who I know will always haunt me
Am
is constant and convincing
F C G
I ve a long long way to go

INTRO RIFF

Am C
I know why the day is long
F C G
when there is no one to talk to about my dreams
Am C
I know when the evening comes
F C G
that I will know the song of desire that the blackbird sings
Am
I m on a roll
C G
and I am not afraid to fight
Am
bless my soul
C G
I ve been around so many time

F
It might seem fair to warn you
G
that there s nothing here to stop me
Am
(from drowning in the darkness
G
of the things I can t control
F
the angel near my heaven
G
who I know will always haunt me
Am
is constant and convincing
F C G
I ve a long long way to go
