James Vincent Mcmorrow

Biography:

James Vincent McMorrow is an Irish singer-songwriter from Dublin, Ireland. McMorrow began performing under his own name in 2007, releasing an EP entitled The Sparrow and the Wolf in 2008. His debut album, Early in the Morning, was released in February 2010 via Believe Recordings in Ireland. The album's momentum was initially slow, but the use of one of the album's songs on Grey's Anatomy sparked interest in the US and in Europe. [Intro]
G D/F# A Bm A

[Verse]
G D/F# A
Someone hears a lie, somewhere underneath,
Bm A G
caught between the reeling, mirroring the beat.
D/F# A
I no longer fit and the years asleep.
Bm A
Show no sense of holding, staring aimlessly.

[Chorus]
D F#m A G
I wanna go south of the river, glacier slow in the heart of the winter.
D F#m A G D/F# G
I wanna go south of the river, face it alone in the heart of the winter.

[Verse]
D/F# A
And this we'll celebrate, this we'll settle
Bm A G
There and on the stage, this is a mistake.
D/F# A
Damn the earth below. Damn the earth and moon,
Bm A G
damp and clawing kneeling, bursting into tune.
D/F# A
In a moment I was caught, in a calling by a steam.
Bm A
In the moment of a hot.

[Chorus]
D F#m A G
I wanna go south of the river, glacier slow in the heart of the winter.
D F#m A G D/F# G
I wanna go south of the river, face it alone in the heart of the winter.
F#m G A Bm Bm A Em
Ha--ah I'm knotted at the love called house.

[Bridge]
Bm
Few became, few became as glory as long locked as the forest
G D/F#
they had starting living near.
Em Em Em/F# Em/G Em/A
Ever since, ever since the farthest reaching under we inside
Em/B C6
a cheat, his banks and disappear.
C6#11 Em
Someone hears a lie, somewhere underneath. Caught between
G C6 C6#11 Em
the reeling, mirroring the beat. I no longer fit, and in years we fall.
G C6
Saw no sense of holding, and there's no sense at all.
C6#11 Em
And I was someone else, I was something pure.
G D
Barrelling at the old. There along the door.

[Outro]
G Bm D Cmaj7
I wanna go south of the river, face it alone in the heart of the winter.
G Bm D Cmaj7
I wanna go south of the river, face it alone in the heart of the winter.
