F D# Dm
Hey mister, that's me upon the jukebox
F D# A#
I'm the one that's singing this sad song
F D# Dm Gsus G7
I'll cry every time that you slip in one more dime
Gm7 C7 F Gm7 C
And let the boy sing the sad one, one more time

-------------------------------------------------

Dm G7 Dm G7
Southern California is as blue as the boy can be
D# A#
Blue as the deep blue sea
Dm G7
Won't you listen to me now
Dm G7 Dm G7
I need your Golden Gated cities like a hole in the head
D# A# F D# A# C
Like a hole in the head, I'm free!

-------------------------------------------------

F Am Dm
I do believe I'm headed home
D# A# C F
Hey mister, can't you see that I'm as dry as a bone
Dm Am A#
I think I'll spend some time alone
D# A# D# C
Unless you found a way of squeezing water from a stone

-------------------------------------------------

Dm G7 Dm G7
Let the doctor and the lawyer do as much as they can
D# A#
Let the springtime begin
Dm G7
Let the boy become a man
Dm G7 Dm G7
I have wasted too much time just to sing you this sad song
D# A# F Gm7 C
I've been this lonesome picker a little too long

-------------------------------------------------

F D# Dm
Hey mister, that's me upon the jukebox
F D# A#
I'm the one that's singing this sad song
F D# Dm Gsus G7
I'll cry every time that you slip in one more dime
Gm7 C7 F Gm7 C
And let the boy sing the sad one, one more time

-------------------------------------------------

don't you know

Good-bye
