James LeBlanc

Nature Of The Beast

by James LeBlanc
James LeBlanc

Biography:

As an artist, James' delivery is what we in Muscle Shoals call Soulful. James is difficult to define stylistically, as he is cutting his own trails musically and his talents are broad so he crosses genres easily.

On top of his singing and writing talents, James also is an amazing guitar player. He spent much of his youth practicing and playing in local bands throughout the South. On stage James is dynamic, holding the audience in the palm of his hand.

Nature of the Beast
(James LeBlanc, Travis Meadows, Matt Warren)

[Intro]
Am

[Verse 1]
Am F C
Feel like I'm driven by forces I don't understand
Am F C
Led by the nose with invisible hands
Am F C
Most of the time I don't know who I am
Dm F
Or which wolf that I wanna feed

[Verse 2]
Am F C
There's a boy in this man that don't wanna grow up
Am F C
I go out of my way just to get myself stuck
Am F C
I reckon too much is never enough
Dm F
When you're wired for the hunt like me

[Chorus]
F
And it does what it does
C
And it runs like it runs
G Am G
And it pushes when you pull on the reins
F
And the best you can do
C
Is the best you can do
G F
I can't outrun what's in these veins
Dm Am F
I head west but I wind up east
Dm Am F
Ain't no cure for my disease
F G Am
That's the nature of the beast

[Verse 3]
Am
It's a hill that I'm climbing
F C
Just a little too steep
Am
It's a hole that I'm in
F C
Just a little too deep
Am F C
That drives drunks and fools right down to their knees
Dm F
And we both know that I'm both of these

[Chorus]
F
And it does what it does
C
And it runs like it runs
G Am G
And it pushes when you pull on the reins
F
And the best you can do
C
Is the best you can do
G F
I can't outrun what's in these veins
Dm Am F
I head west but I wind up east
Dm Am F
Ain't no cure for my disease
F G Am
That's the nature of the beast
