James Gang

Walk Away

by James Gang
James Gang

Biography:

James Gang was an American rock band formed in Cleveland, Ohio, in 1966. Though the band was not a huge commercial success, the fame garnered by guitarist Joe Walsh (who replaced the original guitarist in 1968) has since made the group more notable. After the group split in early 1977, there have been reunion concerts at various times in 1996, 1998, 2001, and 2005–2006.

The founding members of the band were drummer Jim Fox, bassist Tom Kriss, guitarist Ronnie Silverman, keyboardist Phil Giallombardo, and guitarist Glen Schwartz.

Tune down 1/2 step

[Intro]

A->D, A->D, A->D, A->G-D PLAY 2X
then on B string at the 12 fret with a full bend and a roll down PLAY 2X
C->D
A->D, A->D, A->D, A->G-D

[Verse 1]

A D A D
Takin' my time, choosin' my line,
A D A G-D
Try'n' to decide what to do.
A D A D
Looks like my stop, don't wanna get off,
A D A REST
Got myself hung up on you.

[Chorus]

F#m D
Seems to me, you don't wanna talk about it.
F#m D E A Bm-C-Bm
Seems to me, you just turn your pretty head and walk away.

The rest of the song is the same (I's not hard so you most likely got the idea)

[Solo Break]

uses the A major pentatonic scale and plays over these chords:

[Instrumental]

F#m A->D A->D F#m A->D A->D C-D
Places I've known, things that I'm growin',
don't taste the same without you.
I got myself in, the worst mess I been in,
and I find myself startin' to doubt you.

[Chorus]

F#m D
Seems to me, you don't wanna talk about it.
F#m D E A Bm-C-Bm
Seems to me, you just turn your pretty head and walk away.

[Outro]
(same chords progression)

Cool myself down, stompin' around,
thinkin' some words, I can't blame ya.
Meet ya half way, I got nothin' to say,
still I don't s'pose I can blame ya.
