Em
On the wide open prarie on a cool summer night
Em
he heard an eagle cryin' and took it as a sign
C
so he climbed down the canyon and found the lawmen lyin'
Em
the hoof prints and empty shells told the story all too well
Em
so he dug them all a grave but one man could be saved
C Em
the lawman said "I thank you, but I don't even know your name"
Em
He said "you have before but you wouldn't know me,
C
my mother called me Tonto but now they all scream Kemosabe,
Em
you're the friend I need."
Em
Then down came a twister and a pale beam of light
Em
he heard a blast of thunder saw horse all in white
C
that reared up on the horizon and rode up as fast as lightnin'
Em
on this dusty night they knew it's meant to be
Em
so he grabbed his brother's sash and fashioned him a mask
C
and mounted up on this might silver steed
C D Em
and he cried "Hi-ho-silver away"
C D Em
"Hi-ho-silver away"

Em Em C Em

Em
They rode off in the distance to hunt down a man
Em
a man that they call cavendish that ruined this land
C
the man that shot his brother and all of his law friends
Em
they found the gang in Colby there was terror on the town
Em
the gang was soon arrested but no Cavendish around
C Em
the Ranger caught him running for one final showdown
Em
the ranger quickly drew but did not aim to kill
Em
instead he shot him in the hand so he could go to jail
C
tied him up for the sheriff to lock away
C D Em
and he cried "Hi-ho-silver away"

C D
"Hi-ho-silver
C D
"Hi-ho-silver
C D Em
"Hi-ho-silver away"
