Intro: A A# C D# A# A (repeat
C D

Dm F Bb B
Running, jumping, pushing its way
Dm F Bb B
Mornings nighttime blends into day
Dm F Bb B C
Can't find curtains to shut it away

D Gm F
We were alone in the hills of the night
E Am G
Now the neon dawn lets in the light
F# Bm A
And the milkman that nobody knows leaves bottles of tears
Ab C#m B
At the house full of laughter nobody ever hears

A
O the grass is burned black
A# C D# A# A
By the ships coming back from the stars, golden stars
A
Seas turned to flame
A# C D# A#
C G
When we boiled the dream of tomorrow, tomorrow

D Bm G A
When it gets light
D Bm G A
Some of them always stay
D Bm G
She's dressed in white
F#m
Till the smoke turns her grey

Dm F Bb B
Falling, stumbling, feeling its way
Dm F Bb B
Mornings nighttime moves into day
Dm F Bb B C
Can't find warmth to keep it away

D Gm F
Used to be alone on the waves of cloud
E Am G
Now the flotsam dawn brings in the crowd
F# Bm A
And the angel who sits in her car / Full of desire
Ab C#m B
But the hoses who came from the town / Put out her fire

A
O the seas have run dry
A# C D# A# A
And the sun's one good eye is too blind to see
A
Sky has gone bad
A# C D# A#
C G
From the good times we had burning bright, such good times

D Bm G A
When it gets light
D Bm G A
Some of them always stay
D Bm G
She's dressed in white
F#m Dm F#m
Till the smoke turns her grey

Outro: A A# C D# A# A (repeat and fade)
