When The Morning Comes.
Hoyt Axton.
Album: Life Machine.

D A7 D A
And when the morning comes and you gotta get up,
G D
How you going to find your shoes?
A7 A
In an empty bed with an aching head,
G D
You know it's gotta give you the blues.

D
I don't know what's going on here,
A
I know things are not all right,
A
If you want me to I'll go dear,
G Em7 D
If you want, I'll stay all night.

D A G D
Came here with my broken heart,
G E7
Wrapped away with care,
A
All you do is sit and drink,
A Em D
And stare, at your TV.

A7 D A
And when the morning comes and you gotta get up,
G D
How you going to find your shoes?
A7 A
In an empty bed with an aching head,
G D
You know it's gotta give you the blues.

D
You ask me, why I came here,
A7
But you're the one who phoned,
A
I wasn't very happy,
G D
But I did alright alone.

D
I thought you learned to love me,
G E
I guess you never will,
A
The key's lost to the kingdom,
D
And I don't have time to kill.

A7 D A
And when the morning comes and you gotta get up,
G D
How you going to find your shoes?
A7 A
In an empty bed with an aching head,
G D
You know it's gotta give you the blues.

D A D A G D G E7 A D

D
So it's goodbye, Carolina,
A
So long, Tennessee,
A
California's calling,
G D
And Chicago's good to me.

D
My feet are in the stirrups,
G E
My pony wants to run,
A
Think I'll hit the highway,
A D
I guess you're not the one.

A7 D A
And when the morning comes and you gotta get up,
G D
How you going to find your shoes?
A7 A
In an empty bed with an aching head,
G D
You know it's gotta give you the blues.

A7 D A
When the morning comes and you gotta get up,
G D
How you going to find your shoes?
A7 A
In an empty bed with an aching head,
G D
You know it's gotta give you the blues.
