Howard Moss

Waiting For The Girl

by Howard Moss
Howard Moss

Biography:

Howard saw a gig broadcast by RTE of Rory Gallagher live in the Cork Opera house in 1988 and from that moment on he just wanted to play the guitar. Howard bought a cheap but playable Encore guitar in Navan and practiced along to a lot of early metal albums. He formed his first band, 'Near Dark' in 1989 with Derek Bradley on Drums and Paul Jones on Bass. The band performed many local gigs and wrote many songs but unfortunately fell apart in 1991. Howard released a solo album called 'Tempus Fugit' in the summer of 1995

Waiting For The Girl - Howard Moss (Outside The Pale 2013)

(Dm7) All (Dm7/G) day, (C) waiting for the (Cmaj7) girl,
(Dm) Hoping , (Dm7/G) that (C) things will turn out (Cmaj7) well.
(Dm7) Waiting, (Dm7/G) in (C) the wind and (Cmaj7) snow,
(Dm7) Hoping, (Dm7/G) the (C) girl is gonna (Cmaj7) show.

(F) Dah de dooh, (G) Do dah do dah (Am) doo, I keep on waiting
(F) Do dah do (G) dah (Am) do, always anticipating
(F) Do dah do (G) dah (C) do

(Dm7) Searching (Dm7/G) for (C) the nerve to say (Cmaj7) hello
(Dm7) She'll (Dm7/G) smile and then (C) down the road she'll (Cmaj7) go.
(Dm7) Sometimes (Dmy/G) when the (C) sun's about to (Cmaj7) shine,
(Dm7) I think someday (Dm7/G) soon, for (C) sure she will be (Cmaj7) mine.

(F) Dah de dooh, (G) Do dah do dah (Am) doo, I keep on waiting
(F) Do dah do (G) dah (Am) do, always anticipating
(F) Do dah do (G) dah (C) do

(F) In the crowd, I could (Dm7) be feeling so lonely,
(E7) like I haven't got a (Am) friend in this place.
(F) Yes, I'm always (Dm) feeling quite lonely
(E7) But then I catch a (Am) glimpse of your face.
(F) It's like a picture (Dm7) that I'll always remember
(E7) It's one that sets my (Am) senses ablaze
(F) Burning brightly, such a (Dm7) colourful ember
(E7) Staying with me for the (Am) rest of my days

(Dm7) All (Dm7/G) night, (C) waiting by the (Cmaj7) phone
(Dm7) Lonely (Dm7/G) , (C) it's no fault of my (Cmaj7) own
(Dm7) Thinking(Dm7/G) , of (C) good times up (Cmaj7) ahead
(Dm7) Drinking (Dm7/G), to (C) words I never (Cmaj7) said

(F) Dah de dooh, (G) Do dah do dah (Am) doo, I keep on waiting
(F) Do dah do (G) dah (Am) do, always anticipating
(F) Do dah do (G) dah (C) do

Dah de dooh, Do dah do dah doo, I'm always waiting
Do dah do dah do, just anticipating,
Do dah do dah do - stop my heart from breaking
Do dah do dah do - it's a constant craving
Do dah do dah do - a chance worth taking
Do dah do dah do - I ain't complaining
Do dad do dah do - In the time remaining
