F * A *
You drifted away but she wanted to stay
G * F*
Even though she knows his feelings will never change
F * A *
She waits and she waits just to hear her name
G * F* A*
and those three words that mean everything

[Pre-chorus]
A F G G
But deep down she's aware that that's something that'll never reach her ear
A F G G7 *
And deep down she's aware that that's something she'll never live to hear

[Chorus]
F A G G
So go ahead and kill me as long as he's safe
F A G G7 *
And go ahead and shoot me as long as I can see his face
F A G G
When I'm gone

[Verse 2]
F A G G
She sees his face everyday
F A G G7 *
And maybe one day he'll say I've always felt that way

[Pre-chorus]
F A G G
But deep down she's aware that that's something she'll never live to hear
F A G G7 *
And deep down she's aware that those words will never reach her ear

[Chorus]
F A G G
So go ahead and kill me as long as he's safe
F A G G7 *
And go ahead and shoot me as long as I can see his face
F A G G
When I'm gone When I'm gone

[Bridge]
F * A * G * G7*
I forget about you over the weekend Decided that I'm over it
F * A * G * G7*
But the second I see your face again it's like the match was re-lit
F * A * G * G7 *
I forget about you over the weekend Decided that I'm over it
F * A * G G7 *
But the second I see your face again it's like the match was re-lit

[Chorus]
F * A* G * G7*
So go ahead and kill me as long as he's safe
F * A * G * G7 *
And go ahead and shoot me as long as I can see his face
C *
When I'm gone
