by Have Gun, Will Travel
Have Gun, Will Travel

Biography:

Since the 2008 release of their debut full-length Casting Shadows Tall As Giants, the band has been gaining momentum regionally as well as nationally. The album was featured on NPR’s “Second Stage” program. "Their music has a great energy to it with some infectious, sing-along choruses and refrains." commented NPR host Robin Hilton. At Creative Loafing's 2008 Best of the Bay Awards held in Tampa, HGWT took home the Readers' Poll Award for Best Americana Act and Staff pick for Local CD of the Year.

[Intro]
G Em D C G
These arterial road ways

Carry empathy in differently
Em D C G
From a heart made to break the scale
Em D C
To its unfeeling extremities

G Em D C (x2)

[Chorus]
Em G
In between the rise and fall of an empire
D C
The light from the campfire, is fading away
Em G D
History writes itself on the faces of people and places
C G
In traces of gray
Em D C G
As the stock market sleeps tonight
Em D C
This town dreams in black and white

G Em D C (x2) G

[Verse]
Em D C G
The house filled with vampires
Em D C G
Can a wound go unrecognized?

See the ghost of a distant time
Em D C
As a freightliner of bull's fight

Em G D C (x2)

[Chorus]
Em G
In between the rise and fall of an empire

The light from the campfire, is fading away

History writes itself on the faces of people and places
