Harvey Danger

Pike St Park Slope

by Harvey Danger
Harvey Danger

Biography:

Harvey Danger was an alternative rock band that formed in Seattle, Washington in 1992 and rose to prominence in 1998 with the iconic single "Flagpole Sitta". Released from their debut album, 'Where Have All The Merrymakers Gone?', the song helped the group build its college radio fan-base. The band released their last album in 2005, 'Little by Little' (also known as 'Little by Little...'), after the five year hiatus that followed the release of their sophomore album, 'King James Version'.

For F* softly, quickly alternate between F and Fdim. It just involves moving
between the 3 and the 2 on the A string.

C
Drive across the country, tell your story walking,
Em F
No one's keeping you captive, in the town that let you down, so sorry.
C
Blame it on the television, blame it on the company,
Em F
Don't blame it on the fundamental fact, that no one owes you something.

C Em
I've come about my share, I only want what's fair,
F
Anyone who knows me, knows that I'm not greedy,
C
Like everybody else, I wanna pay my dues,
Em F
I only want someone to tell me who to make the check out to.

F* F
Maybe we could run away and start a little repertory movie house or something.
F* F
She said, "sorry but I think you might be just projecting but here's the dough."
G C
Pike Street to Park Slope, Brooklyn.

C Em F
C
A community of dabblers, who are vain and fond of biting backs,
Em F
We hate it when our friends become successful,
C
And a different school, whose energies are spent evading income tax,
Em F
And silicone enhancements by the breastful.

F* F
Maybe we could run away and start a little repertory movie house or something."
F* F
She said, "sorry but I think you might be just projecting on to me.
F
Why don't you try LA?"
G C
Pike Street to Park Slope, Brooklyn.

C Em F

C
Well when you like something, it's an opinion
Em F
But when I like something, it's a manifesto,
C
Pomposity is when you always think you're right
Em F
Arrogance is when you know.

F* F
Maybe we could start a little independent repertory movie house or something.
F* F
She said, "Sorry but I think you might be just protecting your investment
Or else assigning blame."
G C
Pike Street to Park Slope, Brooklyn.
