[Intro]

C G D G C G Em C D G

[Verse]

C G D G
I’ve often wondered how love would strike me dead
C G C D G
Would it hit me like thunder that’s what I’d expect
C G D G
But when I held you, I knew it was different from the start
C G C D G
No words were spoken, but I felt it in my heart

[Chorus]

C G D G
It was softer than a whisper quiet as the moon
C G Em C D G
But I could hear it loud as laughter ’cross a crowded room
C G D Em
It was gentle as a baby’s hand, but it held me like a chain
C G Em C D G
It was softer than a whisper when love called out my name

[Instrumental]

C G C D G

[Verse]

C G D G
Last night you lay sleepin’ when I thought I heard a sound
C G C D G
I got up and slowly took a look around
C G D G
Well I found no answer no sound I could explain
C G C D G
It must have been your heart dear; calling out my name

[Chorus[

C G D G
It was softer than a whisper quiet as the moon
C G Em C D G
But I could hear it loud as laughter ‘cross a crowded room
C G D Em
It was gentle as a baby’s hand, but it held me like a chain
C G Em C D G
It was softer than a whisper when love called out my name
C G Em C D G
It was softer than a whisper when love called out my name
