Great cover of a classic song by The Talking Heads, on Guster on Ice. Hope you all enjoy.

Capo 3rd fret
Intro:
G - G - D - C (repeat)

G Bm
Here we stand like an Adam and an Eve
Am D
A waterfall, the garden of Eden.
G Bm
Two fools in love, so beautiful and strong,
Am D
The birds in the trees are smiling upon them.

F# F#sus4
From the age of the dinosaurs
F# F#sus4
Cars have run on gasoline,
G Bm
Where, where have they gone?
Am D
Now, it's nothing but flowers.

Chorus:
G
There was a factory,
D C G
Now there are mountains and rivers!
D C
(You got it, you got it)
G
We caught a rattlesnake,
D C G
Now we've got something for dinner
D C
(You got it, you got it)

A
This was a shopping mall,
E D A
Now it's all covered with flowers

E D
(You got it, you got it)
A
If this is paradise,
E D A
I wish I had a lawn mower!
E D
(You got it, you got it)

Interlude:
G - G - D - C (repeat)

G Bm
Years ago I was an angry young man,
Am D
I'd pretend that I was a billboard:
G Bm
Standing tall by the side of the road,
Am D
I fell in love with a beautiful highway.

F# F#sus4
This used to be real estate,
F# F#sus4
Now it's only fields and trees.
G Bm
Where, where is the town?
Am D
Now, it's nothing but flowers.

Am E
The highways and cars
Am E
Were sacrificed for agriculture.
Cm G
I thought that we'd start over
C D
But I guess I was wrong.

Chorus:
G
Once there were parking lots
D C G
Now it's a peaceful oasis

D C
(You got it, you got it)
G
This was a Pizza Hut
D C G
Now it's covered with daisies
D C
(You got it, you got it)

A
I miss the honky tonks,
E D A
Dairy Queens, and 7-Elevens.
E D
(You got it, you got it)

A
And as things fell apart,
E D A
Nobody paid much attention.
E D
(You got it, you got it)

Interlude:
A -
A - A - E - D (repeat)

A
I dream of cherry pies,
E D A
Candy bars and chocolate chip cookies
E D
(You got it, you got it)
A
We used to microwave
E D A
Now we just eat nuts and berries
E D
(You got it, you got it)

A
This was a discount store
E D A
Now it's turned into a cornfield
E D
(You got it, you got it)
A
Don't leave me stranded here,
E D A
I can't get used to this lifestyle.
