Groundation

Ratant Crow

by Groundation
Groundation

Biography:

1. Groundation is a Fusion-Reggae band based in Sonoma County, California. It was established in 1998 by Harrison Stafford, Ryan Newman and Marcus Urani upon their meeting at the Jazz program at Sonoma State University. Groundation's music incorporates the lyrical struggle of Roots Reggae, the progressive musicianship of Funk/Jazz fusion, and other-worldly transcendental Dub.

The 9-piece band creates an altogether new Reggae sound, featuring swirling horns, stout poly-rhythmics, and soulful harmony vocals.

While de across the street…human rights slayers
F#m A Bm

Life is calling out to the
They who call him so Jah seh
Knights of the moonlight war-in de
C#m Bm
Oh, true Jah you better do the right
Martyr you better heed the right
Conscience you better know the right
Moses and they that crow…
C#m Bm
Came in cloaked as they…
with a pack of guns and why
I… don’t fraternize up riverside
F#m A Bm
Ratant Crow swamp them feed
Life is calling out to the
Even if they don’t want to know
But, but, but, but, but
But, but, but, but, but
But, but, but, but by day I see them
I see them passing by
Life is broken once again
C#m Bm
And if they say Jah plan,
Jah plan tonight yeah
Today that just might be, to much to carry
F#m A Bm
Ratant crow swamp them feed
Rain a cast him out a street
They think that I’ll crumble beneath pressure
But I remember they fool Empire
C#m Bm
Come! Man if they want to
Hide! Man if they want to
Hide! Man if they want to
I! Man if they want to
F#m A Bm
Ratant Crow upon the bridge,
with a pack a guns and why?
I… don’t fraternize up riverside
Ratant Crow
C#m Bm
One heart!
One Jah-Jah!
One heart!
One Jah-Jah Jah-Jah Jah
Na fear na haffe fear the one
Na trapping Jah I feel it high
Na fear na haffe fear the one
Na trapping Jah I feel it high
Relax in the ghetto!
Out of conflicts lift them high
Relax in the ghetto
With na stick nor gun
C#m Bm
Almighty Dread Jah plan,
Jah plan tonight yeah
Today that just might be,
to much to carry
F#m A Bm
Ratant Crow swamp them feed
Life is calling out to the
Break his heart into the top of mount Sinai
Until that table turn, the mighty man a tumble down
A tumble down, he tumble down, tumble down
