Multi-Colored Lady by Gregg Allman

[Intro]
A Asus4 A Asus4

A Asus4
I got on a bus in Memphis
A Asus4 A Asus4
Destination Rome
A Asus4
But Georgia ain't no paradise
A Asus4 A Asus4
a place I could call home
D A/C# Bm7
I sat next to a broken hearted bride
D A/C# Am/C Bm7
She was cryin', tryin' so hard to hide
A Asus4 A Asus4
Her selfish sorrow

[Verse]

A Asus4
I tried to get her talkin'
A Asus4 A Asus4
She didn't have much to say
A Asus4
Asked me for a map to death row
A Asus4 A Asus4
But I didn't know the way
D A/C# Bm7
She had lost a million in the game
D A/C#
One look out my window
Am/C Bm7
At the pine trees and the rain
A Asus4 A Asus4
It wasn't her day

[Chorus]
E
Multicolored lady
D G E/G# A Asus4 A Asus4
You ain't like no rainbow I've ever seen
E
Multicolored lady
D D
Angry red, passion blue
G A Asus4 A Asus4
But mostly shades of green

[Verse]
A Asus4
Midnight came and brought more rain
A Asus4 A Asus4
Nothing seemed to ease her pain
A Asus4
The hours that we talked seemed like
A Asus4 A Asus4
Minutes all in vane
D A/C# Bm7
I watched her endless tears keep runnin' wide
D A/C# Am/C Bm7
And by and by and by, and way past, after a while
A Asus4 A Asus4
She sat smilin'

[Chorus]
E
Multicolored lady
D G E/G# A Asus4 A Asus4
You ain't like no rainbow I've ever known
E
Multicolored lady
D G A Asus4 A Asus4
Come go with me, I'll take you to my home
G A Asus4 A Asus4
Oh, by the way, I'm bound for Rome

G A
