Grape Digging Sharon Fruits

Rocket

by Grape Digging Sharon Fruits
Grape Digging Sharon Fruits

Biography:

A band of many flavours. Sometimes hazy, washed out psychedelia is on the menu, other times it's fuzzy sunshine pop or just plain old self-conscious folk. Whatever the tone, these lads from the grassy land of Yorkshire have more melodies than you could store in a large wooden box. Under the self-created genre of Pressure Pop, the Grape Diggers have effortlessly cranked out four full length, vividly colourful albums whilst barely scratching the surface of their collective potential.

This song appears on the "Jams2" video for Doki66's YouTube. From what I can
gather the lyrics are correct. This song is not found anywhere else outside that
video as far as I know. Four main chords are used: D, Bm, A and G. The G is a barre chord.

Capo 3:

Intro:
D | D - Dsus4

D A
We used to play for months and weeks way back by the brook
Bm G
Making paper airplanes and colouring in your book
D A
And picking up the insects and shooing all the bees
Bm G
We'd gather all the mistletoes and then do what we please

G

D Bm A G
I could be a rocket man shooting into space
D Bm A G
I could be a politician falling into grace
D Bm A G
It doesn't matter what I am someone will take my place

G Bridge

And so on for the rest of the song like this.

Further Lyrics:

We'd go down to the store and order some ice cream
I would have vanilla, and you'd have clotted cream
And then we'd go and sit back down upon a cobble-wall
You'd ask me what I want to do, I'd have no clue at all

I could be a rocket ship shooting into space
I could be a politician falling into grace
It doesn't matter what I am someone will take my place

We would sit for hours on the swings just holding hands
Laughing at the people down at solid land
And then when the sun went down your Father he would call
I'd get up, I'd go home and wouldn't sleep at all

I could be a rocket ship shooting into space
I could be a politician falling into grace
It doesn't matter what I am someone will take my place
