[Verse]
C G
Before the sun came up, he sipped that coffee black,
C F
Slid on his muddy boots, pulled down his feed store cap.
C G
He taught me how to grease the points, on that massive 2-4-0
F Am
but I was way to busy, didn't really care to go.
G F Am G
So he worked the feilds alone, but what I didn't know.

[Chorus]
C G Am
Up on that tractor, things might be faster in the world
G
but big wheels rolling slow.
F C F
Help you see whats important, what really does matter,
G
up on the tractor.

F C F Am G

[Verse]
C G
Just like the dirt is black, so do the years fly by.
F
He stayed home with mom, I travelled far and wide.
C G
And like a good man does he listened when I called.
F Am
Told him about my crazy life, and all the things I saw.
G F Am G
And when it was time to go, he wanted me to know.

[Chorus]
C G Am
Up on that tractor, things might be faster in the world
G
but big wheels rolling slow.
F C F
Help you see whats important, what really does matter,
G
up on the tractor.

[Bridge]
F G
It tore my world apart, when god took him away.
Am C
Didnt get to say goodbye, I miss him everyday.
F G
When all the feilds grew up, this is right back where I came.

[Chorus]
C G Am
Up on that tractor, things might be faster in the world
G
but big wheels rolling slow.

C G Am
Up on that tractor, things might be faster in the world
G
but big wheels rolling slow.
F C F
Help you see whats important, what really does matter,
F C F
I know even more now, what really does matter,
G
up on the tractor.

[Outro]
