[Intro]

4x Am F C G

F F C C

[Verse 1]

C G
In a small cafe off 22
Am F
I asked a trucker what I should do
C G
I said I need a place
F
where I can settle down
C G
He looked at me with a tired grin,
Am F
said if I could do it all over again
C G
I'd be headin' south
F
without looking back

[Chorus]

F Am
Cause I've been on the road
F
from coast to coast
C G
and there's one place I love the most
Am F
If you ask me for all its worth
C G
There ain't nothin' done on earth
F F C C
as it is in Texas

[Verse 2]

C G
I moved to Dallas for 5 years straight
Am F
'til I was back on that interstate
C
Thought I was missing something
F F
that I had to find
C G
What I found was reality
Am F
there's only one place I was meant to be
C G
And under the Texas sun
F
I was driving home

[Chorus]

F Am
Cause I've been on the road
F
from coast to coast
C G
and there's one place I love the most
Am F
If you ask me for all its worth
C G
There ain't nothin' done on earth
F F C C
as it is in Texas

[Solo Chords]

Am C F G

Am F C G

[Introducing the band] (repeated as long as they had to, I'd leave it out)

I guess I've lost that restless side of me
Em F
Cause Lord knows I'll never leave

[Chorus]
Am*
I've been on the road
F*
from coast to coast
C G
and there's one place I love the most
Am F
If you ask me for all its worth

as it is in Texas
