Acoustic Version
The intro and the parts between the chorus and verses are a little tricky or easy
depending on how you want to play it.
You can play it the real way with the (strumming pattern)where it goes:
D (DDUUDUUDU) G (DU) Em (DU)

or the easy way with just:
D G D G

I put the easy parts in for you,
but here's the rest of the song:

D G
I was Ringo Starr of the dashboard drummers,
D G
You were turning up the radio.
D G
Sitting in the middle, playing the fiddle,
D G
You were hotter than a summer back road.
Em G
And it's crazy how I remember that perfectly

D G
When we set sail away in a white Chevrolet
D G
With a Jerry jet sticker on the glass.
D G
We cut through the night like the KC lights
D G
Knowing summertime wasn't gonna last
Em G
And we swore that wouldn't matter
Em G
And we'll stay like that together
Em G D
But we're not, cause we're not 19 forever.

D G D G

D G
I remember the time you asked me for a ride,
D G
If I could teach you how to drive stick.
D G
You burned through the clutch and I burned to touch
D G
Every tan line wrappin' your skin.
Em G
And I still see every memory.

D G
When we set sail away in a white Chevrolet
D G
With a Jerry jet sticker on the glass.
D G
We cut through the night like the KC lights
D G
Knowing summertime wasn't gonna last
Em G
And we swore that wouldn't matter
Em G
And we'll stay like that together
Em G D
But we're not, no we're not 19 forever.

D
And I still sing along
Bm
With all those old songs
D Em G Em G
Well, I know it's wrong, I know it's wrong,
D G
I know it's wrong.
D
I gotta move on.

D G D G x2

D G
When we set sail away in a white Chevrolet
D G
With a Jerry jet sticker on the glass.
D G
We cut through the night like the KC lights
D G
Knowing summertime wasn't gonna last
Em G
And we swore that wouldn't matter
Em G
And we'll stay like that together
Em G
But we're not, no we're not 19 forever.

G D G D x2 (let D ring at the end)
