Intro: G, Em x2

G Em
One short night with a stranger

G Em
One full moon over my head

G Em
One false move and it's over

C Em
And I always think of what we said

G Em x2
My baby

G Em
Strange how heavy my heart is

G Em
Strange how dark it is tonight

G Em
Strange the way this all started

C Em
I guess I'm losing track of wrong and right

C G
And as the lights go down I lie down with him

C Em
And as I'm layin' there I can only smell your hair

C Em
It's like you're across the hall with your ear glued to the wall

G D
And as I move to let him in I can feel you crawl under my skin

G
And I can feel you from the inside

Em D
Prowlin' like devil that I'm tryin' to hide

C Em Am G Em D
I can feel your heart beating closer than the poison of my pride

C Em Am
I

G Em x2

Am Em
Caught up in the moment I thought I'd feel no shame

Am Em
Because I didn't have to tell you lies when the daylight came

C G
But now, down goes that silver tear, down goes my golden year

Am C
Down they go in a water slide

Am D
that's made of all the tears I've cried

G
And I can feel you from the inside

Em D
Prowlin' like devil that I'm tryin' to hide

C Em Am G Em D
I can feel your heart beating closer than the poison of my pride

C Em Am G Em D
I can feel you touchin' me I look at him but it's you I see babe

C Em Am G Em D
I can feel your heart beating closer than the poison of my pride

C Em Am
I

G Em G
One short night

G Em G
One short night

Em G Em G

*Note: Some of the D's are interchangeable with Am's in phrases ending in 'hide' and 'pride.'
It sounds good to add the pinky to the high E string on the 3rd fret
when you play the D for a few strums, that's how Grace plays it live.
