Biography:

Geneviève Waïte (Cape Town, South Africa, February 13, 1948 - May 18, 2019) was a South African actress, singer and former model.

Waïte's 1974 album Romance Is on the Rise was produced by her second husband, John Phillips, formerly of the folk rock group the Mamas & the Papas. A 2005 release of the album includes her cover of the Velvet Underground song "Femme Fatale".

Waïte married musician John Phillips of the Mamas & the Papas on 31 January 1972.
