Generationals

I Used To Let You Get To Me

by Generationals
Generationals

Biography:

The two men behind the creation of Generationals - Ted Joyner and Grant Widmer - don't know what they've done. They couldn't possibly have that sort of clairvoyance to perceive the effect that one of the songs they wrote has had on the few and will have on the many before the year is up.

The song in question - "When They Fight They Fight" - is a HIT recording the likes of which summers cream for, the likes of which makes everyone go a little woozy and a lot bananas.

[Verse 1]
B
I used to walk to corner of Fourth and Chestnut
E G#m B
I used to ring the broken doorbell and sit and wait for you
B
We used to live there and you could do a Boston accent
E B
And I would tell you baby just stay and let me talk to you
E
Tell me what I have to say
E B
If it's nothing tell me that it's time to go
B

[Chorus]
A E
Is it the omnipotence talking in your ear
B
That makes you want to walk so slow?
B

[Verse 2]
B
I can attest to that if anyone,
E
I used to let you, I used to let you get to me
G#m B
Unless you don't know
B
Sorry your tears still run,
B
And is your voice too young?
E
I used to let you get to me
E
And now you got a terrible way,
B
Just, I really, really have to know

[Chorus]
A E
Is it the omnipotence talking in your head
B
That makes you want to walk so slow

[Interlude]
B E G#m B

[Verse 3]
B
Sorry it's just too much,
B
Still it's too close to touch
E
I used to let you get to me
E
And now you got a terrible way,
B
Just I really, really have to know

[Chorus]
A E
Is it the omnipotence talking in your ear
B
That makes you want to walk so slow?
