Gene Vincent

Crazy Legs

by Gene Vincent
Gene Vincent

Biography:

Gene Vincent, real name Vincent Eugene Craddock, (February 11, 1935 – October 12, 1971) was an American rockabilly pioneer musician, best known for his hit Be-Bop-A-Lula. He performed with his backing band, the Blue Caps.

After Be-Bop-A-Lula had become a huge hit in 1956 (peaking at #7 and spending 20 weeks in the Billboard Pop Chart), Gene Vincent & His Blue Caps (often mis-named as 'the' Blue Caps) were unable to follow it up with the same level of commercial success

Well, I got a little woman called, Crazy Legs,

she's the queen of the teenage crowd.
A
All the cats stuffin' nickels in the ol' jukebox,
A7
just to watch her do The Bop when the music gets loud.

CHORUS:
D A
Crazy Legs, Crazy Legs, a-boppin' all over the floor.
A
Do The Bop, Crazy Legs, do The Bop.
E D A
She's my baby and I don't mean maybe, she's mine, mine,

mine, all mine.

#2.
A E
But I'm crazy about Crazy Legs and Crazy Legs' crazy
A
about me.
D
Well, I'm crazy about Crazy Legs and Crazy Legs crazy

Well, when she hears the music, well, it gets in her feet.

She does a different kind of rhythm with every song.
E
Well, that's why they call her Crazy Legs, she's real gone.

CHORUS:
D A
Crazy Legs, Crazy Legs, a-boppin' all over the floor.
A
Do The Bop, Crazy Legs, do The Bop.

She's my baby and I don't mean maybe, she's mine, mine,

mine, all mine. (jump in!)

E A
Well, she can Bop, she can Boogie, she can move and jump,

with a style that's all her own.
D
Just give her lots of room and a rock 'n' roll tune,
E
and she will do The Bop till the cows come home.

OUTRO:
D A
Crazy Legs, Crazy Legs, a-boppin' all over the floor.
A
Do The Bop, Crazy Legs, do The Bop.
E D A
She's my baby and I don't mean maybe, she's mine, mine,

mine, all mine. (Do The Bop!)
