Train Leaves Here This Morning

by Gene Clark
Gene Clark

Biography:

Gene Clark, born Harold Eugene Clark (born Tipton, Missouri, November 17, 1944[1] - May 24, 1991) was an American singer-songwriter, and one of the founding members of the folk-rock group The Byrds.

Gene Clark is best remembered for being The Byrds main songwriter between 1964 and 1966. He created a large catalogue of music in several genres but failed to achieve solo commercial success. Clark was one of the earliest exponents of psychedelic rock, baroque pop, newgrass, country rock and alternative country.

Gene Clark Train Leaves Here This Morning by Gene Clark &
Dillard & Clark Bernie Leadon

E
I lost ten points just for bein'
D B E
In the right place at exactly the wrong time
E
I looked right at the facts there
D B E
But I may as well have been completely blind
C#m F#
So if you see me walkin' all alone.
C#m F#
Don't look back I'm just on my way back home
E
There's a train leaves here this mornin'
D B E
I don't know what I might be on
E
She signed me to a contract
D B E
Baby said it would all be so life long
E
Looked around then for a reason
D B E
When there wasn't somethin' more to blame it on
C#m F#
But if time makes a difference while we're gone
C#m F#
Tell me now and I won't be hangin' on
E
There's a train leaves here this mornin'
D B E
I don't know what I might be on

SOLO

E
Thirteen-Twenty North Columbus
D B E
Was the address that I'd written down on my sleeve
E
I don't know just what she wanted
D B E
Might have been that it was gettin' time to leave
C#m F#
And I watched as the smoker passed it on
C#m F#
And I laughed when the joker said Lead on
E
Cause there's a train leaves here this mornin'
D B E
I don't know what I might be on
E
There's a train leaves here this mornin'
D B E
I don't know what I might be on
