[Intro]

C F C

[Verse]
F
We had a difficult winter

We had a rough few months
C
When the storms came in off the coast

If felt like they broke everything on us at once

[Pre-Chorus]
F
It's easy enough to talk about blitz spirit

When your not holding the roof up or knee deep in it
C
And the pictures and the papers got ruined by the rain

And we wondered if they'd ever get dry again

[Chorus]
Am G F
But I don't wanna spend the whole of my life indoors
Am G F
Laying low waiting on the next storm
Am G F
I don't wanna spend the whole of my life inside
Am G C
I wanna step out and face the sunshine

[Verse]
F
We lost faith in the omens

We lost faith in the Gods
C
We just ended up clutching at the empty rituals

Like gamblers clutching long odds

[Pre-Chorus]
F
And I don't care what the weatherman is saying

Because the last time that I saw him he was on his knees he was praying
C
The preachers and the scientists got soaked just the same

And we wondered if we'd ever get dry again

[Chorus]
Am G F
But I don't wanna spend the whole of my life indoors
Am G F
Laying low waiting on the next storm
Am G F
I don't wanna spend the whole of my life inside
Am G F
I wanna step out and face the sunshine

[Bridge]
C -once
So open the shutters
Dm -once
Raise up the masts
Am G F
Rejoice Rebuild The storm has passed

C
Cast up the crutches
Dm
Cut off the cast
Am G F
Rejoice Rebel The storm has passed
Am G F
Rejoice Rebel The storm has passed

[Chorus]
Am G F
But I don't wanna spend the whole of my life indoors Rejoice Rejoice
Am G F
Laying low I'm waiting on the next storm Rejoice Rebuild The storm has passed
Am G F
I don't wanna spend the whole of my life inside Rejoice Rejoice
Am G F
I wanna step out and face the sunshine Rejoice Rebuild The storm has passed

[Outro]
Am G F
I'm not gonna live the whole of my life indoors
Am-once G-once C-once
I'm gonna step out and face the next storm
