Freedy Johnston

Biography:

Freedy Johnston (born 1961) is a New York City-based singer-songwriter originally from Kinsley, Kansas. Johnston's first album, "The Trouble Tree" was released in 1990, and features the guitar playing of the roots musician and author, David Hamburger. Song: Western Sky
Album: Never Alone

[Verse 1]
C F
A pilot's son won't fly
G C
So it's a two-day drive
F G
Kissed his brave new wife goodbye
C F
The road ends in a fence
G C
She flies off overhead
F G
He starts his lonely trip out west

[Chorus 1]
F G
Western sky
F G
The miles go by
C F G
She'll always get there first
C F G
And I'll always arrive
F G
Meet you there
F G
You take care
C F G
I love that look you give
C F G
Before you say goodbye
C F G
Before you say goodbye

[Verse 2]
C F
His conscience waits for dark
G C
Like an AM radio song
F G
After his father crashed the clouds
C F
After his father crashed
G C
He moved his family back
F G
And vowed to never leave the ground

[Chorus 2]
F G
Western sky
F G
Between the signs
C F G
I'm spelling out your name
C F G
In neon passing by
F G
Meet you there
F G
Saturday
C F G
Now you be careful love
C F G
The road can hypnotize
C F G
The road can hypnotize
C F G
The road can hypnotize
C F G

[Verse 3]
C F
An exit in the rain
G C
She answered before it rang
F G
But he can only say her name

[Chorus 3]
F G
Western sky
F G
He laughs then sighs
C F G
I'm only half way home
C F G
And stopping for the night
F G
Glad you're there
F G
You know my fear
C F G
I need those words you say
C F G
Before you say goodbye
C F G
Before you say goodbye
C F G
Before you say goodbye
C F G
