SMALL MOTORS - FRED EAGLESMITH (CAPO 4)

[Verse 1]
C
Well he bang on this, and bang on that
F C
He'd adjust the timing
C
Turn the mag and set the screw
G
Then he'd fix the idle
C
Finally he'd make 'em run
F C
As good as they were gonna be
C
And everything you knew you know
G C
He taught it all to me

[Chorus 1]
C
And he liked small motors
F C
Fly wheels on the side
C G
Single piston engines made out of cast iron
C
He liked small motors
F C
He'd start 'em one by one
C
We'd stand around and we'd listen
G C
To them little engines run

[Verse 2]
C
And he wore railroad coveralls
F C
With his name written on the chest
C
We talked Model A's and T's
G
While he rolled cigarettes
C
And we'd get lost inside our thoughts
F C
And we'd let those tanks run dry
C
And one by one those little engines
G C
Sputter and they'd die

[Chorus 2]
C
And he liked small motors
F C
Fly wheels on the side
G
Single piston engines made out of cast iron
C
He liked small motors
F C
He'd start 'em one by one
C
We'd stand around and we'd listen
G C
To them little engines run

[Verse 3]
C
Boys I know you're in your suits
F C
And you've come to say goodbye
C
And I can tell you miss him too
G
By the tears in your eyes
C
But I'm asking you a favor
F C
By a boy who's brokenhearted
C
Help me get these suckers down
G
Help me get 'em started

[Chorus 3]
C
And he liked small motors
F C
Fly wheels on the side
G
Single piston engines made out of cast iron
C
He liked small motors
F C
He'd start 'em one by one
C
We'd stand around and we'd listen
G C
To them little engines run
