-INTRO-

D Riff
D Riff

-VERSE-

D Riff
Parents don't be too kind to your kids
D Riff
Or else how will they grow up to be
D Riff
Louche Parisian sinners and Nashville country singers
D Riff
Singing about the terrible things their parents did

D Riff
Lovers dont be sparing with the truth
D Riff
Break their hearts if that's what you must do
D Riff
Fill them with remorse tinged with hope of course
D Riff E riff
Let their baser instincts pull them through

-CHORUS-

E7 Gsus2 E riff
And though it seems a little strange to me
E7 Gsus2
People never really change it seems

-VERSE-

D Dsus2/G
All across America
A7 riff D Dsus2/G A7 riff
Waitresses and boys who play guitar
D Dsus2/G
They fall in love and fall out
A7 riff
The boys have something to sing about
D Dsus2/G A7 riff
And the girls go drown their sorrows in the bars

D Dsus2/G A7 riff
While in front rooms all across the old country
D Dsus2/G A7 riff
Sat spellbound in front of their TVs
D Dsus2/G
Younger brothers and sisters
A7 riff
Wonder at what they're missing
D Dsus2/G A7 riff E riff
Wonder how the air tastes when you're really free

-CHORUS-

E7 Gsus2 E riff
And though it seems a little strange to me
E7 Gsus2 E riff
Well you can never really change it seems
E7 Gsus2 E riff
We're all broken boys and girls at heart
E7 Gsus2
Come together, fall apart

-POWER VERSE-
D5~ NEW RIFF
And in Battersea power station the Fisher King
D5~ NEW RIFF
Ponders on his ruin among many other things
D5~
He folds his broken hands
D5~ NEW RIFF
Surveys his baron lands
D5~ D5~ D5
And prays for hope to whisper in the wind

-BRIDGE-

Gsus2
Cause we were born without reason
A7
We'll die without meaning
Dm Dm/C
And the world will not shrug all that
Gsus2
Much at our passing
G6
You can try and try and try
A7 D Dsus2/G A7 riff 2
But no one ever makes it out alive
D Dsus2/G A7 riff 2
But no one ever makes it out alive

-OUTRO-

D Dsus2/G
All you broken boys and girls
Em A7 riff 2
With your tattered flags unfurled
D Dsus2/G Em A7 riff 2
Fix yourselves to fix the Fisher King

D Dsus2/G
All you broken boys and girls
Em A7 riff 2
With your tattered flags unfurled
D Dsus2/G Em A7 riff 2
Fix yourselves to fix the Fisher King

D Dsus2/G

Fix yourselves to fix the Fisher King

Dsus2/G Dsus/F# Em A7 riff 2
Won't you fix yourselves to fix the Fisher King?
Dsus2/G Dsus/F# Em A7 riff 2
Won't you fix yourselves to fix the Fisher King?

Dsus2/G Dsus2/F# Em
(Ooooooh)
