This version is from the Live at Bangor Abbey CD. Don't be put off by the complex-looking chords.
I've charted them below FYI. It's easy enough to substitute more simplified chords & still have it sounding
pretty good.

If there's one thing that I know

It is that two shades of hope

One the enlightening soul

But not that despair is the all-time low

[Chorus]

Of a somewhat distant man

Yet I cannot help myself but hope

I guess that's why love hurts
G7sus4
And heartache stings
Am7#5
And despair is never worse
G7sus4
Than the despair that it brings

But hope deals the ha- ardest blows, dear

The ha-ardest blows, dear

The ha-ardest blows
