Toba The Tura

by Forgive Durden
Forgive Durden

Biography:

Forgive Durden is an indie rock band from Bellevue, Washington formed in 2003.

On January 27, 2008, lead singer Thomas Dutton announced on the band's blog that the other 3 members had decided to leave the band, citing personality conflicts as the primary reason. The next album released under the band's name was Razia's Shadow: A Musical. The album was conceived by Thomas Dutton and co-written by his brother Paul. The album also features Rudy Gajadhar of Gatsbys American Dream on drums.

Four years of hard work!

This month of May we celebrated four years on the air. We continue working on the dissemination of this wonderful instrument, thank you for participating in our story!

Razia's Shadow is an eloquent masterpiece of music. An incredibly talented
grouping of artists all on one concept album, each track is truly its own universe
of sound. 'Toba the Tura' was one (among many) of my favorites featuring
Chris Conley from Saves The Day.

Em A Dmaj7 Bm7
So you're Ahrima, collusive dreamer.
Em A Dmaj7 Bm7
I watched the lamps fall, you pushed them over.
Em A Dmaj7 Bm7
They say you're gifted, well I just see a scared kid.
Em A Dmaj7 F#
They must have flipped it, your skills are latent.
Bm7 Dmaj7 Em
O, you snuffed the glow. Replaced it with coals.
F#
Threw away the throne.
Bm7 Dmaj7 Em
O, you snuffed the glow, replaced it with coals.
F#
Burnt down my home.

Em A Dmaj7 Bm7
You had a life of privilege, hope and love.
Em A Dmaj7 Bm7
But now that's all gone. Maybe the design's flawed.
Em A Dmaj7 Bm7
So that's why I'm here, to preserve the remainder
Em A Dmaj7 F#
Of what chance we have left at an existence.

Bm7 Dmaj7 Em
O, the desolate dirt. The raw, scorched earth.
F#
It's a trophy of your worth.
Bm7 Dmaj7 Em
O, the desolate dirt. The raw, scorched earth.
F#
It's a scar of my hurt.

Bm7 Dmaj7 Em A
Your cold, wicked soul boasts a foul scent. (No, a stench)
Dmaj7 Bm7 Em A
The formidable taste of pure contempt.
Bm7 Dmaj7 Em A
Every dark corner will soon see the light. (O, so bright)
Dmaj7 Bm7 Em A
The beaming flood will pour right through the blinds.

Bm7 Dmaj7
My words will tear through the air,
Em
Pierce through the despair,
F# Bm7
To find your arrogant, throbbing ears.
Dmaj7
If it's too much to bear, or to hear,
Em
Or take, I'll be frank,
F#
Let my inflection be crystal clear.
Bm7 Dmaj7 Em
This mess that you've made, it's a six-foot grave.
F# Bm7
It's a home for your lonesome bones that remain.
Dmaj7 Em
We'll disappear, but you'll stay here to rot
F# -- (play as xx11,11,11,9)
As The King of The Dark and Forgot.

Em A Dmaj7 Bm7
What have I done? Please make me your son.
Em A Dmaj7 Bm7
What have I become? Destroyed all I love.
Em
O, what have you done?
A Dmaj7 Bm7
Disobedient son, you've broken the trust of your father's love.

(Repeat last 2 lines and end on F#)
