[Verse]
C G7
I seem to see a shadow of heartaches and despair
F C
I seem to hear your footsteps though I know they aren't there
C7 F
Everything seems just the same except that you are gone
G7 C
As I walk again all by myself down lover's lane alone

[Verse]
G7
I hear the laughter in your voice a thing that will not die
F C
And I see the teardrops in your eyes from times I made you cry
C7 F
It's hard to realize that all these things are gone
G7 C
As I walk again all by myself down lover's lane alone

[Verse]
G7 C G7 C
Perhaps someday as time goes by I'll love again and yet
D7 G7
There are some things and it takes more than a lifetime to forget
C C7 F
You brought me laughter love and joy now all these things are gone
G7 C
As I walk again all by myself down lover's lane alone

[Verse]
G7 C G7 C
And yet they tell me someday I will find myself again
D7 G7
That God above will call me from this world of appalling sin
C C7 F
That I will find true happiness and love I've never known
G7 C
And never have to walk again down lover's lane alone
