Albuquerque Low

by Elway
Elway

Biography:

Elway is an American punk rock band from Fort Collins, Colorado. Their sound is a unique and inebriated take on a time-tested formula: aggressive punk rock with soaring melodies coupled with lyrics ranging from that of the sad sap to the indignant atheist with a bevy of homespun dick jokes.
Biography

The original name of the band was 10-4 Eleanor. As 10-4 Eleanor they release an album. ...Too Bad..., and an EP, Words Cannot Express How Much Fuck This Band.

[Intro]

A D (x4)

[Verse]

A D A
I spring awake and the flames lick at my heels
A D
I fall and freeze in sentiments I’ve grappled with for years, like
F#m E D A
How I’ll give up everything for what I love to do
F#m E D A E
And how it all means nothing if it wasn’t all for you, old friend
F#m D A
I slam my fucking head into the wall again

[Chorus]

D A D A
Before you go, promise you’ll commit my bones
D A E A
To the salty sand and stone on the Gulf of Mexico
A/G# F#m D A E
And when the tide rises to baptize the shore
D A E A
Let the wind take me home via Albuquerque low.

[Interlude]

A D (x4)

[Verse]

A D A
We sat and smoked on a speeding midnight train
A D A
I arrived and mourned the fact that she would come and go again
F#m E D A
Hung up on the cities that we both wanted to leave
F#m E D A E
Speaking slow and somber like we liked the taste of air between our teeth
F#m D A
We watched the sun come up and faced reality

[Chorus]

D A D A
Before you go, promise you’ll commit my bones
D A E A
To the salty sand and stone on the Gulf of Mexico
A/G# F#m D A E
And when the tide rises to baptize the shore
D A E A
Let the wind take me home via Albuquerque low.

[Bridge]

A Bm F#m D
Crack your windows
A Bm F#m D A Bm F#m D
............on sleepless summer nights
A Bm F#m D
You will hear me
Bm
on the passing ocean breeze, as it softly carries me

[Chorus]

D A D A
Before you go, promise you’ll commit my bones
D A E A
To the salty sand and stone on the Gulf of Mexico
A/G# F#m D A E
And when the tide rises to baptize the shore
D A E A
Let the wind take me home via Albuquerque low.
