Dropkick Murphys

Broken Hymns

by Dropkick Murphys
Dropkick Murphys

Biography:

Dropkick Murphys is a punk rock band formed in Quincy, Massachusetts, United States in 1996. First playing together in the basement of a friend's barbershop, the band made a name for itself because of its relentless touring and for its annual St. Patrick's Day weekend shows in Boston. The band's songs often deal with Celtic influences, and the working-class environment in which the band members grew up.

The band put out a series of EPs and was signed by Rancid frontman Tim Armstrong's label Hellcat Records.

I saw only one chords for this song but it was not in correct order.
So I made this. It is my first work and done by ear. So will be glad
if you send me any correction or anything.

If you think that some chords don't belong there try listen to the song very
carfully and you might hear them. Or just skip them.
Enjoy!

From the fallen row on row

That was one year to the day

The fought with might and stuck with wrath

G D
Now the battle hymns are playing
A G A D A
Report of shots not far ways

No prayer, no promise, no hand of God
D G D A
Could save their souls that April day
D
Tell their wives that they fought bravely
A D G D A
As they lay them in their graves

D
As the train pulled in the station
A D A
And the families gathered 'round
D
You could hear the first car echo
A D G D A
With a loud triumphant sound
D
But the last car it was silent
A D A
They listened close but they couldn't hear
D
It was laden down with coffins
A D G D A
That didn't speak and couldn't cheer
