Sailing Toward Home
Dottie Rambo
This is the way I play this song.

D G
I stood upon a sandy bank
A7 D
Looking out upon the ocean
G D
I watched the ships come safely in
E A A7
To rest upon the shore
D A7 D
The friends of those a board her
G A7 D
Were gathered there to greet them
G D
It made me long for heaven
A7 D G D
Where friends will part no more

D D7
I'm sailing toward home
G D
On the old ship of Zion
G D
I see the lights up on the bank
E A7
A cross the misty foam
D G D
Angels guide my vessel
G A7 D
'Til I'm safe with in the harbor
G A D G D
Captain guide my ship 'til I get home

D G
Now daddy sailed the seas of life
A7 D
He knew the storms I'd weather
G D E A
He told me of a savior who could chart my desti ny
D D7
The misty veil has lifted
G A7 D
And I can plainly see the harbor
G D
And daddy's standing on the bank
A D
To smile and welcome me

D D7
I'm sailing toward home
G D
On the old ship of Zion
G D
I see the lights up on the bank
E A
A cross the misty foam
D G D
Angels guide my vessel
G A7 D
'Til I'm safe with in the harbor
G A D
Captain guide my ship 'til I get home
