Doc Walker

Where I Belong

by Doc Walker
Doc Walker

Biography:

Where Doc Walker’s 2009 release, GO, focused on the endless comings and goings that characterize life on the road, their new album, 16&1, finds the band looking back at the roots that they’ve grown so deep over time, celebrating how far they’ve come since first putting them down and moving forward all the stronger for having done so.

That said 16&1 doesn’t play like some pensive re-examination of the past. It may find the band taking a trip down memory lane at times

E A
There's just something about this small town,
E A E
Where generations of blood are carved in stone,
A E A
Yeah, that's where I belong.
E A
Smiling face at the fillin' station,
E A E
No bullet proof glass this is family owned,
A E
Yeah, that's where I belong.
E A
Where there's a little white church, couple run down shacks,
E A
Grain elevator by the rail road tracks,
E A B
Where every days like living a country song,
E A E A
That's where I belong.
E A
I got behind the wheel at 14,
E A E
Now I can drive like hell down east bound roads,
A E A
Yeah, With my eye closed,
E A E
In a '77 Silverado
A E A
Cruisin' around the lake side with my girl
E
That was my whole world,
B
She left one day for the city lights,
A
But does she ever dream of me at night.
E A
And that little white church, couple run down shacks,
E A
Grain elevator by the rail road tracks,
E A F#m B
Where every days like living a country sooong,
E A
Where the stop signs are peppered with buck shot holes,
E A
That old stray dog everybody knows,
E A F#m B
You can laugh out loud, and dream all day looong,
E
That's where I belong.

Grain elevator by the rail road tracks,

Where every days like living a country sooong,

Where the stop signs are peppered with buck shot holes,

That old stray dog everybody knows,

That's where I belong.
