Dirty Pretty Things

Biography:

Dirty Pretty Things were a band fronted by former member of The Libertines Carl Barât. The formation of the band was announced in September 2005, after The Libertines had split up in 2004 due to a falling out between Barât and Peter Doherty. Barât had done some work with Vertigo Records and had previously revealed that his new project was with the label. Didz Hammond announced he was leaving The Cooper Temple Clause to join the band alongside ex-Libertines drummer Gary Powell and guitarist Anthony Rossomando

G
You sauntered up and you said how’s tricks
G
You got me drowned with politics
Am
we took and talked and lost the plot
Am
and after that everything seemed fine

G
And it’s distinct, how people collide
G
We drag each other’s worlds down under the tide
Am
With intoxicated hands
Am
Cold, cold hearts and well-laid plans

Em G Em G
Are you listening? are you listening?
A7 C D
As the days, like the waves, pile up behind you

G Am
Ahhh lalala you keep it on
G Am
Melt my plastic heart and help me move on
G Am
Why can't i move on?

G
How do you escape the grey veils at point range?
G
Go to a foreign island or a house in Spain, going
Am
Laladadada
Am
Oh how I’d kill to go
G
Wreck the girders and rivets in
G
A life of buildings and medicines
Am
Ah we all make the same mistakes
Am
Our pitfalls pull us together

Em G Em G
Are you listening? are you listening?
A7 C D
As the days, like the waves, pile up behind me

G Am
Ahhh lalala you keep it on
G Am
Melt my plastic heart and help me move on
Am C B

C D Em
We kick this round my bedroom form
Bm
????????????????????????????
C D Em
But the time, in sight? drift'itaway?
Em G Em G
Are you listening? are you listening?
A7 C D
As the days, like the waves, decisively pull us under.
G Am
Ahhh lalala you keep it on
G Am
Melt my plastic heart and help me move on
G Am
lalala you keep it on
G Am
Melt my plastic heart and help me move on

G
Friends for life and acquaintances
G
Romance and great distances
Am
There’s been so many casualties
Am
But i cannot wallow with these
Ohh no.
