Destroyer

Beggars Might Ride

by Destroyer
Destroyer

Biography:

Destroyer is a Canadian rock band from Vancouver, British Columbia fronted by singer-songwriter Dan Bejar and formed in 1995. Destroyer songs are characterized by abstract, poetic lyrics and idiosyncratic vocals. The band's discography draws on a variety of musical influences, resulting in albums that can sound markedly distinct from one another; in Bejar's words, "That's kind of my goal: to start from scratch every time."

1996–2001
We'll Build Them a Golden Bridge, Destroyer's 1996 debut, is made up of sixteen lo-fi home-recordings.

Beautiful and brilliant song

Intro: Dmaj7 Db Dm7 B Dmaj7 Emaj7 Dmaj7

Dmaj7 Db Dm7 B
Beggars might ride you into doing one thing.
Dmaj7 Emaj7 Dm7 Bm7
When humiliation gets taught and humility does not have the ability to move
Dbm7
a muscle, don’t do The Hustle.
Dmaj7
Beggars might ride.
Db Dm7 B Dmaj7 Emaj7
You’ve heard of the sea versus the scenery, where everytime a man goes
Am7 E
overboard it sounds like somebody’s scoring…
Dmaj7 Db Dm7 B Dmaj7 Emaj7 Dmaj7
on beggars night.
Dbm7 Bm7 Dbm7
Hey, Distro. king for the hearing impaired, I’m starting to think I know why

you were spared:
D E
Paradise felt fine.
D E
What’s yours was mine.
D E
Collaborators fuck us every time…
Dmaj7 Db Dm7 B Dmaj7 Emaj7 Dmaj7
beggars might ride.
D A D F#m G
You’re taking rides with the Sensitive Miser, taking sides with the New Sympathizers.
D E A B Bm7
Girl, what could have been till you gave up the violin for a slight but
Dbm7 D E
distasteful penchant for men!
Dmaj7
Beggars might ride.
Db Dm7 B D
You’ve heard it said and it’s true, for someone so beautifully scarred I
B Bm7 Dbm7
imagine it must be hard to stay away from a life of public relations but
Bm7 Dbm7 Bm7 Dbm7 D E
try! Girl, you’ve got to try! You’ve got to stay critical or die! Stay critical or die!

Maybe not 100% but sounds close to me.
